Stéphane Bancel

General Manager of BioMérieux

Stéphane Bancel was named, in January, 2007, General manager of bioMérieux, leading world group in the sector of the in vitro diagnostics intended for clinical and industrial applications. BioMérieux conceives, develops, produced and markets systems (reagent, instruments and software) which allow either to establish a diagnostics from a biological taking (in the clinical applications), or a control from one of an industrial or environmental sample. 

 

Student of the Central School of Paris, Stéphane Bancel then obtained a master's degree in Biochemical Engineering to the University of Minnesota, to Minneapolis, then a MBA in Harvard Business School in Boston. 


He begun his career in 1995 in bioMérieux where he launched a unit of Industrial Microbiology in Tokyo in Japan, Stéphane Bancel joined, in 2000, the group Eli Lilly to steer the operations of Supply Chain to Basingstoke ( United Kingdom).  Then he was Director of Industrial Operations World  Strategy in the office of Indianapolis (Indiana) in 2002 then assured in supplement, from 2003, management of Supply Chain World and the Distribution in the United States.

 

Finally, he steered Eli Lilly's Belgian subsidiary from 2004 till 2006, before joining the group bioMérieux in July, 2006.
