Objectives are:
- To reinforce local research teams, by supporting existing ones and attracting further resources
- To develop new ways of financing research
Its ambition is to contribute to the emergence of a Lyon/Grenoble infectious diseases research cluster and to become an international reference in its field.
For two years, FINOVI Foundation supports local research teams having released € 1.62M. Furthermore this support to research projects, FINOVI Foundation brings necessary budget for the creation to two new teams, managed by Thomas Henry and Thierry Walzer. These two teams will be linked to the INSERM U851 research unit - Claude Bernard University - Lyon Civil Hospitals and Thomas Henry's team will be hosted in the Lyonbiopôle's Infectiology Center.
The geographical link between Lyonbiopôle and FINOVI foundation should allow to weave links between both structures working on the infectious diseases, the one in connection with the academic community and the other one in connection with the economic environment.
