Lyonbiopole 2010 new actions plan to support the international development of its SMBs members

Lyonbiopole supports its SMBs members in their international development by proposing them several kind of actions

1/ An International Technological Partnersship Program (PPTI)
This program is supported by the French Ministry for the Economy, Industry and Employment (DGCIS). This program is run in association with ADIT and two other French clusters, AlsaceBioValley and Cancer-Bio-Santé. The alliance of these 3 clusters led to the creation of Lifescience Corridor France (LCF).

This program assists the cluster's SMBs members in their international development by helping them to set up technological cooperative ventures with partners in Europe and around the world. In the latter case, the target countries are the United States, Canada and Japan and Europe area.


On the international sector, three partnership agreement were signed between Lifescience Corridor France and the Kansai Bio Promotion Council on February 4th,2008 the Quebec Biosciences Development Center (CQVB) on May 21st,2008 and MOITI & MTTC (Boston, MA) on June 19th,2008 at BIO San Diego. These cooperative ventures will enable exchange programs and research centers to build R&D partnerships.

 

The grant concerns a support:
-  In the movement of the international companies in the form of fixed price(package) on documentary evidences
-  In the set up of application file by experts specialized to answer European and international calls for projects.


Today, the 46 action plans are in progress for 38 companies: 13 for businesses working in Japan, 15 in the USA, 9 in Quebec/Canada and 9 in Europe. Nine partnerships are in the process of being finalized and three International Technological Partnerships are already signed.

2/ Collective actions with other Competitive Clusters supported by the DGCIS and UbiFrance

Every year, 8 French Bio-Health competitiveness clusters work together for organize missions dedicated to their SMBs international development.


These missions are financed by the French Ministry for the Economy, Industry and Employment (DGCIS) and coordinated by UbiFrance.

 

In 2010, the program propose five missions on the occasion of:
- BIO Chicago, April from 3rd to 6th,
- BIO Bangalore, June from 2nd to 4th
- BioMed Israel, June 14th to16th
- Bio Contact, Québec, October from 5th to 6th
- Bio Japan, October from 12th to 15th.

3/ Organization of networking events

  

Lyonbiopole organizes, in partnership with the Office for Science and Technology of the French consulate in Los Angeles, the third edition of the « French American Biotech Symposium - FAST » on New Vaccine and Therapeutic Approaches in Infectious Diseases. This event will take place on Tuesday March 16th, 2010 at Salk Institute in la Jolla, California.

This event aims to favor French-Californian cooperations in themes proposed by the symposium. It propose scientific presentations and networking. The program is completed by a French Biotech Tour proposed by UbiFrance and the economic mission in San Francisco. This event consists to organize  orpagniser des business individual meetings for French companies. It will take place on March 15th in San Diego and on March 17th in San Francisco.

4) Specific missions dedicated to companies organize by Lyonbiopole

5/ International exhibition Participations and welcome to Rhône-Alpes companies

Lyonbiopole participate to exhibitions and symposiums for biopharmaceutical partnerships. The cluster will be present and welcome you on the occasion of:

Lyonbiopole work also in collaboration with local authorities, Rhone-Alpes Region, Greater Lyon and Grenoble Alpes Metropole, and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lyon, for welcome rhone alpes companies on Lyonbiopole's booth. Preferential rates are proposed to companies. For 2010, the action proposed is the one on the occasion of BIO Chicago, April from 3rd to 6th, 2010.
