Competitiveness cluster

In a global economy increasingly competitive, France in 2004 launched a new industrial policy that engages the key factors of competitiveness, first and foremost being the ability to innovate.

What are the clusters goals?

The mission of competitiveness clusters, as defined by the French state, is allowing the development of industrial activities and high-level jobs to consolidate and strengthen the area's in their fields of excellence. The clusters should focus on collaboration between three kind of local actors: companies, training centers and research units, public and private, to work together on common R&D projects with international visibility. They must also enroll in a broader perspective to open international partnerships and enhance its attractiveness.
