Lyonbiopole has developed a technological strategy and scientific events to promote the emergence of ambitious high added value R&D projects.
Initiated in 2007 in Lyonbiopole, an approach of R&D prospective vision has developed a strategic "roadmap" identifying technological and scientific themes and the pathological targets priorities for the cluster. Following this analysis, Lyonbiopole developed animations with the Partnering Days organization, roundtables and workshops to promote the emergence of new projects. In 2009, this approach has allowed the organization and funding of several public / private R&D innovative.

Lyonbiopole’s scientific events are mainly :
> Thematic workshops
> "Europe" workshops
> The Partnering Days: This event gathers participants from industries, SMEs, academic research and hospitals, working in the fields of the cluster. This event is an opportunity for collective thinking around roundtables or workshops. Promising roundtables lead to thematic workshops taking place throughout the year and leading to projects.

« Innovations by biotech firms still take too long to reach major pharmaceutical companies, despite the growing needs of industrial firms and their interest in these breakthroughs in the area of personalized treatment. One of the main reasons is that start ups lack networks and visibility in the eyes of these large industrial groups. These two complementary players thus need a catalyst to create meetings, pass on information and contact one another. This is what World Competitive Clusters like Lyonbiopole do. ImmunID has benefited from this effective support, and we have had excellent results in 2008 and 2009, signing contracts with several firms which are leaders in their field, such as Sanofi Pasteur. In the end, Lyonbiopole is an organization which plays an active role in setting up and giving impetus to future high potential R&D projects in the health sphere. »
