    6 projects        €61.2 million in spending         €16.6 million in funding granted
  • The National Research Agency (ANR):

    2 projects         €5.4 million in spending          €3.4 million in funding notified
  • In all:
    22 projects     €86.6 million in spending     €28 million in public funding granted

3) Advantages obtained by Lyonbiopôle for project funding

 

Lyonbiopôle offers its members support and project setup services and handles coordination of public funding providers.

The cluster has obtained the following:

  • Co-funding of projects by all local authorities alongside the French State

 

  • A pluriannual program for funding of R&D projects by local authorities

 

  • Coverage of 45% of the expenses incurred by each SMB for their R&D projects funded by the Enterprise Competitiveness Fund (FCE)

 

  • The majority of funding for Laboratories and SMBs (partners or subcontractors)

 

  • A strong position with the European Commission prior to the startup of the 7th Framework Program on Research and Development (FP7)
