Philippe E. Laurent is Vice President - Medical Affairs for BD Medical - Pharmaceutical Systems, a business segment of Becton Dickinson (BD). He currently is responsible for pre-clinical and clinical evaluation of BD Medical - Pharmaceutical Systems and Advanced Drug Delivery products.

After 12 years as head of academic research team in the field of clinical immunology, he has more than 13 years of research and development experience within the pharmaceutical industry, has published numerous articles in medical and scientific peer reviewed journals and authored and/or edited several medical textbooks.

After medical school (Claude Bernard University - Lyon I - France) and his Medical Thesis (1977), Philippe completed his medical education in basic and clinical immunology at Pasteur Institute (Paris V University - France). Dr Laurent earned also a Philosophy Thesis (1984) in pharmaceutical sciences in the field of immuno-toxicology and immuno-pharmacology at Claude Bernard University - Lyon - France.
