French Intellectual Property Institute (INPI) services designed for Lyonbiopôle
As part of a contract signed by both partners, the French National Intellectual Property Institute (INPI) and Lyonbiopôle offer member SMBs and research centers services and training in order to assist them in protecting their innovations and in managing collaborative projects.
The action program features a variety of resources:
- Initial Intellectual Property assessment for SMBs
(free of charge for the company)
- Strategic and Competitive Information Search (RISC) services
Document studies conducted by INPI on the state of a technique, searches for previous
patents, brands, drawings and models, freedom to operate and technology watch.
(50% off the general public price for partners in Lyonbiopôle-accredited collaborative
projects)
- Assistance in industrial property for collaborative projects involving SMBs and/or research organizations, conducted by an IP specialist
(coverage of up to 50% of the cost by the INPI, based on invoices)
- Access to INPI professional training days
(50% off the list price for SMBs and research organizations that are members of
Lyonbiopôle)
- IP days and awareness workshops

Guide to intellectual property in competitiveness clusters
A legal guide published by the French Directorate General for Enterprise (DGE) has been online since January 22nd, 2008.
This legal guide, designed for the various members of competitiveness clusters, contains:
- Practical information on key legal issues, including patents, non-disclosure, management of innovations and more.
- Methodological resources including maps, indicators, summary documents and more.
- Contract templates for non-disclosure and consortium agreements, training agreements and more.
- The main legal texts currently in effect
